During the 7-day holiday, the cultural and tourism market in Xiangxi Prefecture remained safe, stable, orderly, and prosperous, with no tourism safety accidents or major tourism complaints.
147,000 visitors came to the Biancheng Chadong Scenic Area in Huayuan County, the Red Stone Forest in Guzhang County received 48,100 visitors, the Liye Ancient Town Scenic Area in Longshan County received 74,500 visitors, and the Pushi Ancient Town in Luxi County received 42,400 visitors.
The 21 museums, libraries, and cultural centers monitored saw 72,000 tourist trips.
Tickets of the performances including the intangible cultural heritage show in Qianzhou Ancient Town, “Dehang Fantasyland” in the Aizhai Wonders Tourist Area and the “Border Town” in Fenghuang Ancient Town were all sold out.
At the Biancheng Chadong Scenic Area in Huayuan County, tourists took a boat to Cuicui Island to watch the Miao ethnic stunt skill performances.
Guzhang County actively carried out the activity of “promoting intangible cultural heritage in scenic areas to assist rural tourism”, and held a special folk culture performance in the Red Stone Forest Scenic Area.
Yongshun County and Longshan County are the core areas inhabited by the Tujia ethnic group. Scenic spots such as Furong Town and Rebala welcomed visitors from all over the world with a series of Tujia folk and intangible cultural heritage performances, allowing them to experience the unique folk customs of Tujia villages.
Rural tourism and Red tourism heated up. 13 rural tourism attractions including Zhushan Village, Morong Miao Village and Xinzhaiping received 235,400 visitors, an increase of 2.54% year on year.
During the holiday, while appreciating the beautiful rural scenery and experiencing folk customs, tourists could also soak up Red culture.
The four Red tourist attractions, including Shibadong Village, Ciyantang, Tawo and Aizhai Wonders received 230,000 tourists, a year-on-year increase of 5.47%.
According to statistics from the traffic police department, nearly 6,000 vehicles came to Lyudongshan Town on that day, fully demonstrating the popularity and widespread influence of this event, driving the development of local tea and catering industries.
The surrounding areas of scenic spots in Xiangxi Prefecture were crowded with tourists, and homestays and major hotels also saw peak tourist reception.
During the National Day holiday, the cumulative average room occupancy rate of the 36 monitored accommodation units was 85.25%.
Among them, accommodation units such as Luxi County’s Yujian Meisu Homestay Inn and Baojing County’s 202 Homestay Inn were fully booked.
The cumulative room occupancy rates of Phoenix Grand Hotel, Houyi Grand Hotel, Sunshine International Hotel, and Gloria Grand Hotel in Fenghuang County reached 89.81%, 89.16%, 90.38%, and 89.45% respectively.
